Beta Kappa Archon T. C. Branch received the 2020 Alabama Veterinary Medical Association Veterinarian (ALVMA) of the Year Award virtually on September 8, 2020.  He received the award after being nominated and selected by his peers based on “unselfish dedication to the Association for the advancement of the profession”.

Archon Branch has been actively engaged in leadership roles within the veterinary medical profession, most notably within Alabama serving as president of the ALVMA in 2015 and president of the Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation since 2017.  He was selected as the 2018 chairperson of the American Association of State Boards Conference Committee.  Archon Branch was also appointed as a member of the Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, where he currently serves as President.

Archon Branch is a two-time graduate of Tuskegee University, receiving both his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Poultry Science in 1979 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 1981. He founded Oporto Animal Clinic in Birmingham, Alabama, where he has been in private practice since 1986.
