Archon Bernard Kincaid was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of Miles College in Birmingham, AL.  Archon Kincaid is an alumnus of Miles, having served as President of the Student Government Association on his way to receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in 1970.   He went on to pursue graduate education at other institutions, netting him a Master’s degree, Doctorate and, ultimately a law degree en route to a distinguished career in higher education and public service, including election to the Birmingham City Council followed by two terms as Mayor of Birmingham (1999-2007).  He continues to remain active serving on other boards and participating in civic organizations. Miles College is a historically black college founded in 1898 by the Colored Methodist Episcopal Church and today enrolls over 1500 students.
