Beta Kappa Boulé Signature Social Action Program
The Beta Kappa Boulé Scholars Program is designed to assist young men with the necessary life skills for success while developing true gentlemen.
The participants will compete for scholarships of $5,000 (1st place): $2,500 (2nd place); and $1,000 (3rd place). All other participants who successfully complete the program will receive book scholarships. The scholarships are targeted for African American young men.
The Beta Kappa Foundation will secure funding through various sources including, but not limited to individual donations, grants, and charitable giving from area businesses.
Purpose & Scope
The purpose of the Beta Kappa Boulé Social Action Program is (1) to inspire and mentor African American male seniors in high school to achieve student and community engagement, (2) to develop and refine education and career goals, (3) to cultivate leadership skills and potential, (4) to develop and sustain self-confidence as well as healthy attitudes about themselves and their relationships with others, and (5) to develop and sustain high levels of motivation academic performance.
The scope of the ’20-21 program year is to expand Beta Kappa Boule’s social action mentoring program by utilizing new technology mediums that encourage increased engagement of high school students and archon participation.

Be enrolled in 12th grade for the 2020-2021 academic year, w/ a minimum cumulative
GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
Attend a Birmingham City School.
Be available to participate in all workshops scheduled for the following Saturdays via Zoom from 10a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 24, Nov. 7, Nov. 21, Dec. 5, 2020; Jan 16, Jan. 30, Feb. 13, Feb. 27, Mar. 13, Apr.3, Apr. 17, 2021; May awards banquet.
